While the movement and pace of Mr Shifty never feels bad, the game does rely on a few annoying tropes-for instance, temporarily removing your cool ability as an added mid-game twist. One cool encounter forced me to blink to a door guarded by enemies, quickly open it to allow a deadly turret to obliterate them, before blinking out of the way just in time. Meanwhile, you’re able to use environmental hazards to kill enemies, and while you can never pick up their weapons you’re able to-for example-catch a grenade and throw it back at its source. Aside from shifting, the only other special power here is a meter which, when filled after enough attacks, automatically slows down time if a bullet draws too close. ![]() Mr Shifty doesn’t have a gun, but he can pick up some neat perishable melee weapons throughout the levels, ranging from wooden planks to a golden trident which, when thrown precisely, can nail a whole line of enemies against a wall. There are no collectibles, there are no new powers to unlock: it’s just you, the agile Mr Shifty, and the relatively breezy problems he must overcome. It’s very rare that something arrives so stripped of all the moreish qualities games are expected to have in this age. These minions range from bumbling oafs who punch you, through to snipers, dual-pistol wielders, lasers (of course), and other enemies with flamethrowers, grenade launchers, and machine guns.Īnd that’s pretty much the sum total of what you need to know about Mr Shifty. Along the way you’ll lay waste to thousands of hapless minions, and engage in some very light puzzling. It’s a nice effect that bails you out of starting over and gives you another neat way to pummel bad guys. The story is negligible: a corporate villain called Chairman Stone has some deadly plutonium, and you have to infiltrate his skyscraper to retrieve it. But you can avoid death once in awhile: by chaining together enough beatdowns you can build up a special meter that will automatically initiate a slow-motion sequence to let you save yourself from an enemy’s bullet. Death tosses you back to the start of a level, which isn’t a huge inconvenience, but some of the tough late-game levels of the 18-stage campaign will leave you wishing for a checkpoint or two. Shifty’s power is balanced out by the fact that a single mistake at any moment can still get you killed, just like in its clear inspiration, Hotline Miami. ![]() Outside of occasionally wonky collision detection, like the time I saw a shield disappear through a wall, Shifty’s melee combat is savagely violent and fun to execute, but cartoony enough to get by.Īll of Mr. It was easily one of my favorite sequences one turned me into a nearly unstoppable hybrid of the X-Men’s Nightcrawler and Captain America. I have to admit there’s a level of satisfaction that comes from using a broom to smack down a whole group of enemies in one swing, but it doesn’t come close to the invincible feeling I got when I tossed an indestructible shield and watched it bounce off of a row of oncoming enemies. ![]() “And like a comic action hero, Shifty won’t touch the guns dropped by his prey, but he will pick a handful of melee weapons to beat his foes.

![]() ![]() This has stumped me.Īuto moderator removed my first post due to short title, so hopefully this works. Please let me know if any of you have any questions or need any clarification. I am really only trying so hard to get this resolved because it is for a family member and my experience in the IT industry makes me intrigued that I cannot resolve this issue. To me iOS, app software, iPhone hardware and accessible account settings have all been ruled out… My suspicions: I feel based on previous troubleshooting steps taken above that the issue is account based and I don’t think there is anything else I can possibly do with the tools I have to fix this rather than report a bug to Facebook and just wait it out for Facebook to do something. Checked location of account is based in one of the countries where “News” has been released. Checked all settings in Facebook iOS app, could not find anything. Recovering your seed phrase from a hot wallet does not increase your protection, since your seed phrase was already generated online. When setting up a hardware wallet for the first time, do not recover your seed phrase from your MetaMask wallet or any other hot wallet. Return your device and notify Ledger support immediately. If the recovery sheets already have words on them, do not use the device since it has already been set up. The recovery sheet is where you will write down your seed phrase. Once you unbox your Ledger, you should have: Anyone could mess with the hardware or software, but when you buy from an official source, you have higher guarantees of safety. We recommend purchasing hardware wallets from the official websites of Ledger or Trezor. To purchase a Ledger Nano, visit their official site. With Bluetooth connectivity, you can use the Ledger Live app on your mobile phone, while the Nano S needs to be plugged into your computer. The main difference between Ledger Nano X and Ledger Nano S is that the Nano X is Bluetooth-enabled. You can view and manage all your crypto activity on different blockchains through Ledger’s official app, Ledger Live. The Nano S Plus and Nano X can store over 100 apps for your crypto assets and over 5,500 different tokens on the Ledger Live app. Ledger has three devices to choose from - Nano S, Nano S Plus, and Nano X. Ledger is a popular choice, along with Trezor. There are a number of hardware wallets to choose from. ![]() In fact, it’s often recommended to keep your assets divided across multiple hot and cold wallets in order to minimize risk. You can have multiple hot and cold wallets and easily move your crypto and NFTs between wallets anytime. You don’t have to pick between one or the other. This wallet can stay offline at all times, but you can also use your hardware wallet in much the same way as a hot wallet. You can use a hardware wallet as a vault where you store large amounts of cryptocurrency or high-value NFTs. As you continue to navigate Web3 and accumulate crypto assets, you will want to keep those assets secure. So, Do You Need a Hardware Wallet?Īlthough hot wallets are free and easy to use, hardware wallets offer an extra layer of protection by keeping your private key offline. If your computer or phone gets compromised, hackers can easily find and access your private key or seed phrase. Your private key is still securely stored with a hot wallet, but the fact they were generated online and are kept on your computer puts your assets at risk. On the other hand, hot wallets exist as browser extensions or mobile apps. So, even if your computer or phone gets compromised, it would be impossible for hackers to access your private key or seed phrase unless you digitized them in some way. There is no way to view your seed phrase on your hardware wallet again. Plugging your hardware wallet into your computer does not put your assets at risk, since the seed phrase is only shown to you once, during the wallet setup. Hardware wallets provide more security than software wallets because your private key and seed phrase are generated offline, on the device itself. Your seed phrase is what allows you to access your crypto assets, which is why it is an integral part of your wallet. What your crypto wallet actually stores is a pair of public and private keys, including your seed phrase. Instead, they exist as records on the blockchain. Worth remembering is that your crypto and NFTs are not stored in your wallet. A hardware wallet can also be used in combination with MetaMask, adding another layer of protection when navigating the crypto space. The difference lies in where your private keys are stored. You can do the same activities on your hardware wallet as with your hot wallet. The most popular hardware wallets are Ledger and Trezor. Wallets such as MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, or Rainbow are software wallets (hot wallets). What Is a Hardware Wallet?Ī hardware wallet, also known as cold storage, is a small device used to manage your crypto and NFTs while keeping your seed phrase offline and off your computer. Go here to learn how to manage your NFTs and use MetaMask with a Ledger Nano. In this guide, we’ll understand how a hardware wallet increases your security and also go through the steps to set up a Ledger Nano. One way to boost your security is by using a hardware wallet. An important part of owning crypto and NFTs is keeping your crypto wallet secure. ![]() Results: Compliance to the study protocol was high, especially in the first week, with slightly more videos watched in the morning than in the evening. Using Ecological Momentary Assessment, effects on mood, and stress-related complaints were measured in everyday life. They watched an urban (control) or natural slideshow twice daily. Methods: Fifteen participants (12 females) scoring above threshold on stress, depression, or anxiety completed two study periods of 6 days. The present pilot study explores whether an ecological momentary intervention using exposure to natural images could be effective in lowering stress and improve mood. Previous research has pointed to stress-reducing effects of exposure to nature after acute stressors, but has not yet investigated effects in the realm of everyday life. Interventions that can offer temporary stress relief could, therefore, bring considerable health benefits. Conclusions: The results suggest that twice-daily exposure to restorative visual content could be a viable Ecological Momentary Intervention, with the potential to reduce self-reported worry, lower autonomic activity, and increase positive affect.Ībstract = "Background: Stress, and specifically perseverative cognition, is considered to have considerable detrimental effects on mental and physical health. The Arnold shelf contains lights and tools specific for use with the Arnold renderer. This shelf contains commands for spawning different kinds of lights to illuminate your scene, assigning materials to your meshes, and options for Batch Rendering, which renders and exports your project's frames in the background. Although there are further uses, this article will not cover them in-depth. It is possible to model using these shapes, particularly if you need accurate curves and organic shapes. This is, in a way, comparable to the difference between using Adobe Photoshop (Raster-based) and Adobe Illustrator (Vector-based). NURBS stands for Non-Uniform Rational Basis Spline, which accurately represent curves and surfaces using mathematical equations and b-splines. These shapes are called NURBS primitives. ![]() Unlike the Poly Modeling Shelf, these shapes are not primarily made up of vertices, edges, and faces in the same way that the polygon primitives are. Similar to the Poly Modeling shelf, Curves/Surfaces contain three-dimensional shapes and lines/paths you can spawn. In a sense, it's almost like working with digital clay. Whether it’s lifting, smoothing, sharpening, pulling, or otherwise this shelf will contain tools to craft the desired form and surface of your mesh. On the topic of topology, the Sculpting shelf primarily carries tools for molding and modifying the surface of your mesh to your liking. Before long, you will likely be dealing with more complex geometry and topology, although you may still find yourself using these tools nonetheless. Topology refers to the characteristics of a mesh’s surface or the layout of its vertices, edges, and faces. Additionally there are tools to modify the form and topology of your given mesh. In the Poly Modeling shelf you will find commands to instantly spawn or create these primitives. Basic shapes or meshes such as cubes, spheres, cylinders, and so forth are known as Polygon Primitives in Maya. The generic term for shapes or forms constructed of these pieces are Polygonal Meshes. Together, those are able to create three-dimensional forms. ![]() Simply put, in Maya or most other 3D computer graphics software: your scene, characters, and projects are made up of vertices, edges, and faces. This is the default workspace and layout of Maya. Either way, hopefully this may serve as a helpful starting point in familiarizing and growing confident with Autodesk Maya. However, over time, you may find links to related or more specific articles added to sections of this one. However, with a brief and broad overview, along with time and practice, you will hopefully feel comfortable before long! This guide will not cover everything there is about the interface nor the program in-depth, for risk of being overly dense and long-winded.
